A small home office is better than none at all – this is something that many people forget. Even if your space is small, at least you have a dedicated area that you can rely on when it is time to get work done. Along with this, there are many ways that you can make your small home office appear bigger.
1. Get rid of the clutter. No matter how big your home office is, if you have a lot of clutter you are bound to run into problems – this is especially true in a small space. Instead of letting things pile up, day in and day out, try to get rid of things that you do not need.
2. Use light paint. A light paint color will make your home office appear much bigger. Although this will not make the space larger in terms of dimensions, it will deceive your eyes – and that is good enough in many cases. Simply put, dark colors can make any space look small; and that is definitely not what you need.

4. Can you expand? You may think that your home office is too small, but soon enough you may realize that expansion is a very real possibility. Consider all options. Can you knock down a wall to make your office bigger? Is there a way to store supplies in another room so you can have more space for actual work? Think about all your options, and you may be surprised at what you come up with.
5. Buy multi-use furniture. It is important to make the most out of every inch if you are stuck with a small space for a home office. For this reason, you only want to buy and use furniture that is essential. Along with this, try to find pieces that can be used in many ways. For instance, a desk with drawers is better than a desk and a bookcase.
