When you finish your basement you are not only adding livable square footage, but you are also increasing the value of your property. Does it get any better than that?
3. Live in it as is. If finishing your basement is too expensive you can always make some minor upgrades here and there, such as adding an area rug and some wall art, and then use it to the best of your ability. Just because your basement is not finished does not mean that you have to stay out of the space.
4. Finish it a little bit at a time. Since finishing an entire basement at once is a large project you may want to avoid doing so all at once. Instead, you can take on small jobs, one at a time, until the end result is a finished space. When you do this you can move at your own pace and easily stay within your budget.
