People seem to think that there’s bound to be more money in retail than selling stuff at wholesale. When you look at it, they can, indeed, make more profit selling items at marked up prices, but when you’re a wholesaler, you need to make the prices of your items as low as possible in order to attract more customers.
Actually, wholesaling can’t be any less lucrative than retailing because you get to sell items in bulk or in volume so you get to have the return of your investment much sooner.
Engaging in the business of wholesaling does not really require a huge capital but strong organization skills are essential. You see in order to run your business successfully, you need to be able to come up with an organized list of your suppliers and customers.
Many wholesalers operate online and this saves them a lot of overhead expenses — no rent to pay, no extra manpower services to pay, and so on. Indeed, you really do not need to have a huge space to stock the items because it usually happens that your suppliers undertake the responsibility of delivering the goods direct to your customers. However, you may need to keep a few items to present as samples to your customers.
