With conventional types, coal and wood are found between the flames. Modern units give cleaner fuel; the chimney is clean since one uses gas or electricity. With the latter type, pollution is avoided. Smoke is also vented out most especially during cooking.

Marble fireplaces come in different shapes and vary as to material. Marble stones used differ. Often, marble countertops are fitted with limestone. You may find them in mint green. Designs are varied and elaborate. You may find drawings or carvings of people, animals, places, etc. Marble fireplaces may be placed outside in addition with lighted fountains for accent.

Maintenance is very crucial. You need to check the chimney and its fuel regularly. Regular tasks include, cleaning, repair, and maintenance. Marble and wooden ashes must be cleared with care.
